Co-director of Data Privacy Brasil Research Association. Lawyer and researcher with a background in the non-profit sector, specifically in human rights organizations. Graduated in Law from the University of São Paulo (USP), Mariana has a specialization degree in management of social projects and public policies at SENAC-SP. She worked as a research and advocacy advisor at the Legal Reference Center of Article 19 Brazil between the years 2014 and 2018, year in which she provided a research consultancy to the Alianza por la Libre Expresión e Información. She has been part of Data Privacy Brasil since March 2019 and led the Observatory on Privacy and Data Protection project in 2020. Mariana also held the positions of General Project Coordinator and Coordinator of Institutional Development, before becoming director in 2023. Since January 2023 she is also working on her Master’s degree in Philosophy, with a focus on data and digital societies, at the University of Tilburg, Netherlands.
